Macon Apartments

the development of Macon as a recording haven in the 1960's and 70's. Because of this musical heritage, Macon became home of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. On another little known musical note, the kazoo was invented in Macon in the 1840's.

"The Cherry Blossom Capital of the World" is how Macon likes to describe itself. Macon apartment-ites have many choices of festivals throughout the year, including the International Cherry Blossom festival, the First Night Macon, the Pan American Festival and the Georgia State Fair in central city park in late September.
The Ocmulgee National Monument, built by the Native Americans of the Mississippian culture over a thousand years ago features a spiral mound, several burial mounds, an earth lodge and other sites used for ceremonial purposes. Several excellent museums are also found in Macon, including the Tubman African American Museum, the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, Museum of Arts and Sciences/Macon and planetarium, and the Georgia Children's museum. Plenty to keep the Macon apartment dweller busy on weekends.

Several colleges and universities are located in Macon, and include Central Georgia Technical College, Macon State College, Mercer University and Wesleyan College.
